A Critical Trump Network Review. Is There Any Substance Behind The Hype?

There seems to be a trend now among US Billionaires. They are buying and/or starting network marketing companies. Warren Buffet owns Pampered Chef (I have heard of others he owns but couldn’t confirm), Trey White started Evolv Health this year and now The Donald gets into the game with The Trump Network.
What’s the deal Donald?
It’s easy to see why these business moguls have gotten into the MLM game. In this tattered and tough economy, network marketing/direct sales has been one of the few growth industries. Even Jim Cramer (whatever you think about him) reported earlier this year that long time direct sales giants Tupperware, Avon and Herbalife have seen solid growth.
MLM excels during a down economy as tons of people start to understand what long-time network marketing professionals have known for years…creating a residual income is one of the few ways to recession proof your personal economy.

Is There Any Substance Behind The Hype?
One thing is for sure, Trump is great at promoting things and hyping up the media. The Apprentice, any of his many real estate deals, his casinos, his feud with Rosie O’Donnell…they are all “the best.” Just ask him, he’ll tell you.
The question is whether or not there is any substance to The Trump Network. Regardless of your personal opinion about Donald Trump, if you spend some time doing some research on the company you will find out a few things…
They have their act together.
They have an interesting, unique product line.
They have a unique comp plan with some integrated Fast Start bonuses that increase cash flow.
They have Donald.
So, yes, there is plenty of substance behind the hype. The “company behind the curtain” has plenty to offer.
Customized Nutrition, Weight Loss & Energy
Well, they are smart, that’s for sure. They have simultaneously entered into the three biggest markets of wellness and attacking the niches with viable solutions.
The Trump Network uses the PrivaTest® and Custom Essentials® as their main product, offering a personalized solution to vitamins and minerals. The nutritional supplement market is huge and complex for most people to understand. There are thousands of choices and everyday new information comes out that tells consumers that they to take something else.
The reality is, especially with nutrition, that we all have varying needs. We are all unique and our bodies function a little differently. Customization is absolutely the way to go and that is a huge differentiator in the marketplace.
Is the Trump Network the first to do it? No.
First of all, the Trump Network is a rebranded existing company. They used to be called Ideal Health. (http://www.idealhealth.com/). The PrivaTest® and Custom Essentials® has been their main product. Up until this merger/rebranding, they were a network marketing company as well, but only saw very slow growth. They needed something and the Donald was that something.
There are other companies offering custom solutions both in MLM and outside of the industry. Code Nutrition is a traditional company that offers DNA guided nutritional supplements.
On the MLM side, Quixtar (Amway), Market America and the newcomer GeneWize is in the DNA guided nutrition game. Of those three GeneWize is the only one that actually makes your product from scratch, the others just customize existing products for you.
The Trump Network isn’t a DNA based test, but it’s customized nonetheless. There is a huge demand for these types of products and people are willing to pay for them…month after month after month.
And, so we are all clear, you don’t have to be the first to market to win. You have to let the most people know about your brand and over deliver to your customers. It looks like The Trump Network is aiming to do just that.
Things To Watch For
Here are a few potential things to think about before jumping into The Trump Network. These aren’t red flags, mind you, just things to think about and consider.
Donald Trump’s history – okay, so most of you are going, “What?” It’s Trump’s track record that is driving this whole thing. I agree, Donald’s brand is strong and many things he gets involved with have done extremely well. However, he is a billionaire businessman and that doesn’t come without failure. Failure is inherent to business and Trump has had his share.
His companies have filled for bankruptcy many times. And that’s okay. My point here is this…Donald has no problem walking away from a bad deal. For the network’s sake and all the affiliates, I hope he stays involved. If he ever decides to cut and run then we’re back to Ideal Health…which has always made a good product, but was never anything special.
From everything I have seen so far, it seems like Donald is taking this one for the long haul. Everything so far points to that and he is heavily invested in the project and personally spending a lot of time in promotions.
Marketing & Personal Branding
With all of the hype around Trump, it’s easy to caught up in believing that all you have to do is mention his name and people will reach in their wallets for their credit card to sign up in your business. Well, that may happen a few times, but not often.
Right now, Donald is the issue. He likes to be. His brand is very powerful. After all, he’s been building it for years. But smart marketers will learn how to also brand themselves; otherwise you are just like every other Trump Network Affiliate.
This should be incredibly clear to you because it’s exactly what Trump himself does. He is a shameless self-promoter and he is his brand. If you want to build a huge business with The Trump Network, you have to build your brand as well. Take a little hint from the Donald himself.
Those who create a personal brand to market their business through and showcase their connection to real talent, training and marketing strategy will undoubtedly rise to the top. You can too. Work on yourself. Build your skills. Learn how to market yourself so you can differentiate YOU in the massive sea of other distributors. When you do, you will attract people into your business faster than you can say, “You’re hired!”
